Pumpkin Day
© Botanischer Garten
Start: Sunday, October 9, 2022, 11:00 - 16:00
Location: Bohnenkamphaus, Helikoniensaal
The pumpkin is one of the oldest cultivated plants and was already cultivated by the Indians in Central and South America 8000 years ago. The edible pumpkin is one of the largest fruits in the plant kingdom and offers good yield for soups, jams or cakes. In addition to the feast for the palate, the "carving" of pumpkins plays a special role on this day.
For those interested in learning more about cucurbits, a guided tour and tasting will be offered at 11:00 and 14:00.
The entrance is free.
