"The healing methods of Hildegard von Bingen"
Speaker: Franz Fassl, pharmacist from Augsburg
Start: Friday, 9 September 2022, 6:30 pm
Location: Botanical Garden, meeting point at the main entrance at the lime tree.
The lecture is divided into three parts:
- Biography: Hildegard von Bingen was born in 1098 near Alzey in Rheinhessen and died on 17 September 1179 at the age of 81.
- The principles of their healing: The essence of her philosophy is that for her, God and health belong together. Her aim is to treat the soul along with the body.
- Examples from her repertoire: Some selected remedies that Hildegard von Bingen used, such as bergamot, galangal, wormwood, sage and, as a basic foodstuff, spelt, are explained in terms of their effects and also illuminated from our contemporary perspective.
Afterwards, the Friends of the Botanical Garden offer the opportunity to talk to the speaker over a small snack.
The event is free of charge. Donations are welcome.
The lecture will be held in German.
